QR Codes* are barcodes that contain information that can be read by a camera and special software. They are quick and powerful tools for easily communicating information to people without taking up too much space. According to Wikipedia, they were first developed and used by Toyota in 1994 for their automobile manufacturing, but are now found in magazines, on billboards, and yes – in your very own Upper School Library!
Starting today, I will be adding QR codes to our new releases each month that will take you to the book trailer. They will be located on the spine or front covers of each book. In addition to reading the blurb on the back of the book, the video trailer may help you make a good book selection for your leisure reading. We have several iPads in the library that can be used to scan the QR codes – just open up the Scan app, scan the QR code and enjoy the video book trailer!
* Fact: “QR” stands for Quick Response!
